My Family is a series of fictional family portraits. I asked people I didn’t know, purely selected purely on their physical features, to pose with me as if being my siblings. Siblings I don’t have, since I am an only child. Strangers started to look like relatives. I visually created a family I don’t have.
My Family refers to the changing status of intimacy in which the boarders between private and public seem to be fading. A development in which the construction of images plays an important role.
